Science visit to local Elementary School

I always enjoy an invitation to visit local schools to represent CSI and teach scientific lessons, and yesterday I spent the day teaching microscopy.  I am grateful for grants that allow me to bring real tools to the elementary grades.

Engineering Night at Burley High School (Noches de Ciencias)

I received this information last week, and have found out a little more about the activity.  A team of engineering students from UI is coming to present and provide hands-on activities for interested high school kids on March 14 from 6-8 PM.  They request that students do the online registration, and teachers are welcome to come watch and get ideas for their classes.

Declo Science Activities

What a great time for Science in Declo!  The science fair projects have been turned in from all 4th and 5th graders, and the projects will be displayed and judged on Tuesday night.  Today is Dr. Seuss Day, so I might have to find some cornstarch, make some oobleck, and read about Bartholomew.  And yesterday, the iSTEM Institute registration opened for Idaho teachers.  It is a great program and the spaces fill quickly, so reserve a spot at the CSI Session soon!

I am also very excited to be planning another fun CSI Summer Science Camp.  The dates for the Burley session will be June 17-20.  The theme is still a secret, and it will be awesome!!  Teachers that want to be involved...you receive at least one CSI credit for helping, plus some other benefits.   The teacher workshop to get ready for camp will be June 12-13.  I need 6 teachers willing to teach 1-6th graders.
